I was lucky enough to have him coach me a couple of times growing up.
His death during the world cup in the carribean whilst coach of pakistan was a real shock. Even worse when for a while the authorities thought it was murder.

Wasn't really "shocking" as he was ill for quite some time but he was very active across social media until the last few days if not hours.
Was a bit choking but also touching seeing his mates, family and fans all come together to make the end of his life enjoyable.

The day after Di bought the farm, me and 3 mates were driving back from a weekend on t'ale in Hereford. It was a Sunday morning. All normal radio programs had been postponed, and they were all playing mawkish, solemn music, and asking folk to call in and leave voice messages. They were all people sobbing and going "she were the princess of our hearts, we'll never forget you" etc.
Me and my mate Tom rang up and whistled the theme tune from Hawaii 5-0.
They didn't play it.

George Michael and Prince were real shocks. Completely out of the blue.
Anton Yelchin the young guy from Star Trek was very shocking too - killed by his own car having a dodgy handbrake

Wasn't Payne Stewart and the rest of the people on the plane passed out due to the plane losing pressure,so they wouldn't have known the plane was going to crash W4?

Payne Stewart. One minute you're a top golfer flying around in lear Jet on the way to a tournament the next the jet is out of control and all he knew was that it would crash when the fuel ran out, which of course it finally did.
